Anthony Hughes
Editor of frenchQzine.com

Anthony lives in the small, medieval village of Chassiers in the southern French region of the Ardèche.
He’s always had a great love of good food, good wine and cooking. He grew up in the Australian ski resort of Thredbo where his parents built and owned The Silver Brumby, a ski lodge, and where he got his early training in the hotel and catering business learning the foundations of good cooking from his mother, an excellent and ‘sensible‘ cook (not of the one-chive-stem-floating-on-a-thimbleful-of-lobster-bisque cooking school.)
Many dish washer, sous-chef, vegetable chopper and waitering jobs later Anthony opened the ‘Blue Cockatoo’ restaurant in Sydney, Australia. After selling the Blue Cockatoo and spending a couple of years managing the family hotel, he moved to France and now lives with his wife, Miryan, a potter and sculptor, and his three daugthers Tamara, Paloma and Mia, in the wild and beautiful countryside of the Ardèche.
He decided to open this blog to share with you, whoever and wherever you may be, some of his better moments living amongst the food-loving French. Along the way, you may also get an idea of the Ardèche, the rugged and beautiful region he and his family live in, and you may even be inspired to travel to southern France and share a glass of Ardèche wine with Miryan and Anthony on the terrace of Aux Pas Des Bleus.
Anthony and Miryan own a very run-down group of village houses that they are slowly renovating into a house for their family as well as two gites to accomodate friends, visitors and guests. For more information about their holiday accommodation (gites) and Miryan’s atelier visit the Aux Pas Des Bleus website.
